Secondary School

Orkhon Khasu secondary school has been officially offering the Cambridge International Education Program since 2015. The Cambridge International Programme is being practiced at over 10000 schools in 160 different countries. Cambridge International Curriculum suits students’ age and intellectual developments and it provides seamless content which integrates between different levels. It aims to provide students’ knowledge based on skills.

Our school is implementing Cambridge International Curriculum along with Mongolian National curriculum successfully as a bilingual school. Through our bilingual curriculum, we are aiming to increase mental processing capacity, improvement of memory, mental advancement, meta-linguistic awareness and enhancement of inter-cultural skills of each student.

Through the national curriculum, we aim to prepare our students to become citizens with the desire to:

- be well educated

- be a lifelong learner

- earn scientific knowledge and skills for life and activities

- respect and inherit national language, history and traditions

- appreciate mankind’s common values

- associate with human, nature and society appropriately

Cambridge International Education programme is internationally recognized curriculum which consists of four levels:

Cambridge Primary (5 to 11 year old)

Cambridge Secondary 1 (11-14 year old)

Cambridge Secondary 2 (14-16 year old)

In middle school, 2 levels of Cambridge education curriculum are implemented as such;

Cambridge Secondary 1 (Cambridge Checkpoint)

The Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint is typically for learners aged 11 to 14 years old (6th to 8th  grades) and develops learner skills and understanding in English, Mathematics and Science. It enhances the learning environment and provides excellent preparation for Cambridge Secondary 2 and other educational systems.

The Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint tests have been designed to assess learners in English, Mathematics and Science and give valuable feedback on learners' strengths and weaknesses before they progress to the next stage of education.

Cambridge Advanced (Cambridge AS & A level)

Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced (A) levels are internationally benchmarked qualifications providing excellent preparation for university education. They are part of the Cambridge Advanced stage which is in alignment with the Mongolian 11th and 12th grade curriculum. Cambridge International AS levels has half the content of the corresponding Cambridge International A level and may be completed in one year. Schools can offer Cambridge International AS level as a qualification in its own right or as a staged route to Cambridge International A level by completing 2 years.

Cambridge International AS and A level qualifications are widely recognised and valued by universities and employers alike. Some US universities give up to a year's credit as a result. Every year, thousands of Cambridge International A level students gain places at good universities worldwide - including the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and Australia. Three fair passes at "A" level allows a student to skip a year in US, UK and Canadian Universities.
